Boneyard Boogey 11 – Poster Design and Illustration

This was a fun one for sure. Fully digital illustration, done in Photoshop and Illustrator, using my Wacom Intuos Pro tablet. Can’t wait to get my copy of the 24×36 print.

11.18.2010 Snapshot of what’s to come

Here’s a little snapshot of a piece I have in progress. I’m looking forward to finishing this and getting the full piece up for viewing sometime by early next week.

6.2.10 I Felt Like Seeing a Bird

The original painting contained no bird.
I felt like seeing a bird in there.
So I used Photoshop and added one.

2.17.10 Commedia in Performace

Whimsical illustration for a poster project I’m working on for the Performing Arts Division of New Trier High School. The production is “Commedia” in Performance (I may have the punctuation on that title a little wrong). It’s a little different for me, but then again, all of the pieces I’ve done for New Trier have been outside my game a little. But it’s cool because it’s some of the only freelance work I’ve had that involves my illustration abilities.

11.29.09 The Giver

So, I’m reading The Giver, by Lois Lowry, and enjoying it thoroughly.  It’s a young adult book, and I read it first in 5th grade.  It has some neat existential themes, and an interesting take on what the world would be like without pain and suffering.  This is an illustration based on the old man on the cover of the book.  Enjoy.

11.25.09 Wanna bite?

I wasn’t a fan of the drawing really, but after working it in Photoshop, I’m pretty satisfied.
Now, I’m well aware that neat Photoshop tricks don’t in any way make up for a bad drawing, but I feel like it’s finally becoming a strong tool for me rather than a crutch that it became when I was in college.

11.22.09 E.R.N.I.e.

He looks a little demented, but I’m ok with that.  I always sensed there was something a little off about our friend Ernie.

11.21.09 OSCAR The Grouch

Here’s Oscar. He looks kind of weird, almost as if I drew him as a young Grouch or something.

11.20.09 MUPPETS AGAIN!!!

Good ole faithful Muppets.  They never let me down.
Thank you Fozzy the Bear, for always being Kermit’s faithful companion.  Much like a dog.  But a bear.
